I have been building a HTML 5 video slideshow player using jQuery and PHP which works using the HTML 5 video tag as a personal project. It constantly loops through a playlist of video such as MP4 videos.
The script can be dropped into any folder of videos and will read the files and play them.
HTML 5 means it works on desktop PC and mobile device such as android chrome with no need for flash. All it needs to work is a PHP webserver, like apache, and then any HTML 5 capable device can watch video over a network.
I am thinking to use it when on holiday in China to play video from my laptop to my iPad for my daughter to watch, as an example of its use, as there is no YouTube or iPlayer in China.
Could be used as a presentation platform too.
